The big one out today is Watch the Throne, the new collaboration between Jay-Z and Kanye. It’s getting some fairly positive reviews thus far. Metal masters Trivium release In Waves, Canadian giants Barenaked Ladies are back with Snacktime-exclamation point! and Arsis’ seminal A Celebration of Guilt gets a re-release. That last one’s a must-hear. Til next time kids…

The big release this week is the debut of Moonface, the solo project of Spencer Krug from Wolf Parade…Fountains of Wayne will be going strong forever thanks solely to the success of “Stacy’s Mom”…Nekromantix win Best Album Title award with What Happens in Hell, Stays in Hell…and Keb Mo’s new one is The Reflection, already garnering some heavy praise for its warm, bluesy sounds. 311 are still around (was just enjoying a trip down nostalgia road and listening to Transistor a couple minutes ago, weird), releasing Universal Pulse today; alt-rocksteadys 3 Doors Down keep managing to churn them out; plenty of under-the-radar indie releases with AM and Shawn Lee and Burlap to Cashmere, and the Captain America movie releases its soundtrack.
