Event “Duffing For Dollars” is a Hole in One

“Duffer” – (n) A casual or mediocre player of golf.

That pretty much sums up many, but certainly not all the participants who came out swingin’ this past Monday in Mission Viejo for a great cause. Music industry vets Kevin  Lyman and John Reese for the 3rd consecutive year, gathered with their industry and celebrity friends for “Duffing For Dollars,” a fun-filled day of golf and a night of cocktails, awards and auctions. Hosted by Joe Sib of “Complete Control Radio” (98.7 FM, Los Angeles), the event raised $50,000 for the “Unite The United” and “MusiCares” charities and once again, took place at the beautiful Mission Viejo Country Club.

Travel D4RT Launches in Yantaló, Peru

You might remember this post from a few weeks ago, titled “D4RT: Kickstarting art in Peru”, announcing a fundraising campaign for a mobile art workshop aimed at bringing classes and public art projects to impoverished communities worldwide. Thanks to a staggering outpour of support, this dream materialized and D4RT took its first flight three weeks ago.

I bore easily. And my team of crack doctors are not sure if that is the result of the misfiring of a couple bazillion plaque laden dendrites or more likely the result of a mind/body switch (like with Sex, Drugs, and Natalie Portman), but mine with a kitteh. So it’s not all to often I find myself as entertained as I was this past weekend at TwentyWonder. A “carnival of the mind” featuring art, science, music and comedy which collided heart first with ass kickin roller derby to benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles.
