Gallery Los Angeles In Line For A “Do Over”
The line snaking outside the Cabana Club stretches nearly a full block from its starting point of a tatted Asian rocker chic with blue hair at the gate, down past a Harry Potter looking dude in jhorts, and finishes with what looks from here, a Pakistani Jesus complete with robe. This multi-cultural serpent has become a spectacle of its own in a town all too familiar with lines of lost souls outside a club, for this one is bathed in daylight on a Sunday afternoon! It even has a Twitter hashtag (#do-over-line). But don’t fret, for in exchange for your patience, your body will soon be baptized in the spirit-s: Sangria, Soul music, and most likely Somebody else. (RT @waldorules: @do_over EVEN THE SOCIALLY AWKWARD SOUND GUY IN STAR TREK T-SHIRT IS GETTING LAID AFTER THIS ONE!)
Bars/Clubs Gallery Saturday Night S&M at Club Suicide
A man walking his date around on a leash, scantly clad go-go dancers, and a fetish playroom parlour were just a few of the highlights of Saturday’s Club Suicide. For those who are kicking themselves for missing out, the tatted up eye candy known as the SuicideGirls host these sexy evenings on the third Saturday of every month.
These sinful nights have been a common occurrence over the years and have taken place at a variety of venues. The past few have been held at the Monte Cristo – a recently remodeled artsy club in downtown Los Angeles outfitted with vaulted ceilings, a disco ball lit dance floor, framed mirrors on the ceiling, and an expansive rooftop patio that provides a panoramic city view.
Gallery Los Angeles Monday Night Kisses At The Social Aid and Pleasure Club
Monday nights are not the popular night out, unless it’s grabbing a quick Happy Hour special or seeing a flick with a friend, but even then getting people motivated is such a daunting task. For a weeknight that doesn’t receive much action, Central Social Aid and Pleasure Club steps it up by transforming ordinary Monday nights into a world of sexy burlesque accompanied by drink specials and live music – a night they affectionately refer to as “Hey Hey Monday’s.”
Urban Exploration Those Who “Keep Austin Weird”
Not many librarians are known for their influences on pop culture. Austin Community College librarian Red Wassenich is. But it’s not Mr. Wassenich as a man that is cause for celebrity, it’s the 3 words mentioned offhand on a local radio station in the spring of 2000 that are -“KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD.” This offhand remark has since become the slogan for a campaign to preserve small-ish local businesses, a merchandise cash cow for local tourism, and inspired copycats such as “Keep Portland Beered.” For me this slogan reflects much more on the populace of the “15th largest city in the US” and the dualities of its inhabitants.

Gallery Urban Exploration Detroit “Rock City” : Unpolished
On occasion, as I roam this vast urban jungle of ours, I will end up with a pile of images that can’t quite fit their square peg into a specific subject gallery’s round hole. Not that these misfits aren’t entertaining mind you, insert Danzig props here. They just tend to be reactions to some primal Ansel Adams synapses in me that I think you might enjoy, whilst on the clock…
Urban Exploration Vegas: Rub-off Paint on the Town
I was recently hired to shoot the 2010 North American Body Paint Championships in a quaint little Nevada town called… LAS VEGAS!!! Due to those A-holes over at Homeland Security, I am not able to post the images captured over the course of the 3 days of intense naked competition. However, whilst on photo safari about town with my trusty lil’ pocket rocket camera, I happened upon some of the unclothed contestants in the midst of the regular Vegas crazies…
Gallery Urban Exploration “Signs of the Times”- Detroit Edition
“The average American consumes a whopping 34GB of data and 100,000 words of information per day.” Holy overload Batman! Thankfully, some of that information I shot in Detroit Rock City was pretty easy on the eyes.
