It was a perfectly bombastic and electrified night at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday. The Chemical Brothers were in rare form as they took to the stage for an insanely “up for it” crowd. Not known as dynamic performers, the seminal British electronic duo actually seemed rather excited about their Bowl performance – surprising those who experienced their rather lackluster 2009 DJ set at Coachella.
Taking a cursory look at LIGHTS music and videos may give you the impression that her world is one of happy, bright poppy innocence. It’s rather ironic then, that LIGHTS finds her inspiration in the darkness. “It totally spawns from darkness though, and that’s’ how I keep myself happy.”
Sunday night at the Pangaea in Austin a little lady who goes by the name LIGHTS hit the stage. All the way from Toronto Canada, this rising star shines bright. Her trusty keytar in hand she blends electronic melodies with pop, rock and new wave sounds.
She has risen to #1 on MuchMusic Canada and garnered over 10 million plays on MySpace and a JUNO nomination for Best New Artist.
