Gallery Music Skrillex At the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas

June 23, 2011 - 12:52 pm

Last weekend DJ sensation Skrillex performed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. ChinaShop photographer Joe Gall was on site to make sure you got a front row view. The crowds in Vegas are considerably better looking than in your town…just sayin’. He’s a Scary Monster but he’ll get your heart pumping.

Gallery Music Innerpartysystem Trashes the Wiltern’s Decadent, Hallowed Halls

If there’s one thing you can say about today’s youth gone wild, it’s that even rapturous weather can’t deter them from a LOUD rock concert.

No doubt many Angelenos elected to observe Friday night’s torrential downpours from the safety of their home — but it wasn’t nearly enough to deter expounding legions of Innerpartysystem fans, who braved the rain and stood in a 2-block line outside the Wiltern to see the electro-rock act. Pendulum might have been the headliner, but anyone could see IPS’ fans were the more rabid of the two.

The Voodoo Experience had many rocking moments this past weekend. One to note was the afternoon set from innerpartysystem on the Le Plur stage. Sure the sun was high and bright in the sky, not your normal ambiance for electronic thumping. Yet the club crowd showed up in full force, heads bouncing, singing along.

Innerpartysystem @ Voodoo Experience 2010

No one could escape being called American Trash for at least a good 4 minutes. But the zealous fans kept calm and carried on. IPS had a little technical difficulty mid-set…but that was more the stages fault than the bands (I witnessed at least 4 other bands throughout the day having such issues). Despite the glitch, the band came back strong. Lead singer, Patrick Nissley, looks unassuming but I have to say, impressive,  as he belted out his lyrics like “I am the life that you adore, I feed the rich and f!@k the poor”.

Music INNERPARTYSYSTEM Play the Music Box

InnerPartySystem Signs with Red Bull Records

INNERPARTYSYSTEM played the Henry Fonda Music Box in Hollywood Tuesday night  supporting Does It Offend You Yeah? and Kele. When I entered the packed room they were already in possession of the stage like they had always been there, making it there own. The sound enveloped the room like a lovers embrace. Drawing the eager crowd forward into the synchronized light show. Only this lover wasn’t looking you in the eye, cooing he loves you. This lover held you in a passionate embrace, timing his motions with yours, unapologetically romancing you into submission. This live show left you hot and bothered, somewhat satisfied but yet wanting more.

Music INNERPARTYSYSTEM Signs to Red Bull Records

August 23, 2010 - 6:12 pm

American dance group, INNERPARTYSYSTEM just signed to Red Bull Records. The creative  trio consists of Patrick Nissley, Jared Piccone and Kris Barman and has been making music you have probably heard and loved since 2007. Known mostly for their endearing and energetic remixes of such songs as ‘Hot N Cold’ by Katy Perry, ‘Don’t Trust M’ by 3OH!3 and ‘Human’ by The Killers, they have the ability to get your body moving on the dance floor.

In the Summer of 2009, the band announced on their official MySpace and Facebook pages that they had parted ways with their label, Island Records. They wrote, “There are some really amazing, overworked, underpaid, stressed out people who love music, working very hard there… and there are a handful of people who just didn’t really understand this band, and didn’t know how to react when ‘Don’t Stop’ wasn’t ‘Just Dance.’ Our bad there.”

In May of 2010 they self-released the EP American Trash, which exhibited a fresh and polished sound that made the industry perk up their ears. Their music is like a well blended cocktail of straight razors, motor oil, premium vodka and chewing gum. Its accessible, eclectic,  thumping, melodic masterpieces. Just last week they announced they signed to the ever growing roster on Red Bull Records out of Santa Monica, CA.

Have a listen and tell me what you think about their latest acquisition?
