This “Perfectasy” I speak of is all the aforementioned and more, so I grabbed the designer ONCH, who is partially responsible for this dreamscape and asked her to show me the tell behind the tale.

Can you explain the ONCH Movement to me without using glitter?

Original, Niche, Collaborative, Heat,-ONCH! The ONCH Movement is an art movement which is a collaborative heap of a bunch of cool people. My goal is to travel around and meet talented people and use their specific talents to collaborate. So much of what we have in the store here are collaborations themselves.

What is going on here? Did I just see a unicorn?

Welcome to Perfectasy, it’s my ONCH Movement popup shop here at Royal T. Basically its ONCH Movement finally having its own store where you can walk in and see/feel the magic in person. Perfectasy is ‘perfect’ and ‘fantasy’ and that’s the theme of the shop and the different events going on throughout the month here.

How did you get involved with the loverly Royal T?

I threw an event in Jan. called “Eat It All” at the Petro Zillia boutique on 3rd. The girls heard about its wonderful success and invited me in for a pop up shop. It’s been magical for me as an art student because I have loved this place and what they do forever. TRON, 35th Hello Kitty Anniversary, now ONCH. Such an honor.

Is there a greater goal for the Movement?

The goal for the Movement is to have fun and create a niche that produces amazing art pieces and jewelry.

How about the Trevor project?

The Trevor Project is a national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. I did a piece to raise money for them as I feel that it is very important for someone with a voice to speak up and let others know there is a place for help.

How does one go from hot gluing necklaces at home to becoming an artist with a voice helping out LGBTQ youth?

Well, I have definitely worked very hard at making wonderful pieces for celebrities, placement on TV shows, just really making a name for myself. I am definitely a designer that has taken the time to learn how to walk before I have ran.

How long have you been running now?

I’ve been doing this, well this (points to ONCH) since I was a baby, but I’ve been making jewelry for about 6 or 7 years now. Recently, it’s become something that’s been developing into something more…acceptable. Stuff that looks more like jewelry than more of just those statement making pieces.

What’s the next step to the Movement?

I want to create a lifestyle brand. I want to be the next Hello Kitty. I want to be the next, Cute!

I see you have some celeb fans on you side?

I’ve had my work on Paris Hilton, blogged about on Perez Hilton, and even had one of my Lady Gaga inspired meat necklaces used by Riply’s Believe it or Not for an exhibit.

What is the going rate for a meat necklace these days?

It’s around $88, but it’s a wonderful piece of high quality fake meat that will last you forever.

This “Perfectacy” is ongoing and has an upcoming fashion show from Perto Zilla and T. Rains called “Rainbows and Cowboys”on 8/18. It will close 8/31 with an, “over-the-top cabaret night…costumes encouraged!!!!” announces the Royal T site.
