We go to movies to be entertained, and as icing on the cake, maybe gain some insight into our crazy, confusing day-to-day lives. A documentary has to really stretch itself to catch our eye. Fortunately, one such documentary, “Miss Representation,” caught the eye of DJ Tina T, and motivated her to hold a private screening at Red Bull’s headquarters in Santa Monica this past Wednesday, August 30. “Representation” cleverly grabs hold of our attention, and redirects it toward the toxic media culture in which we’ve raised our daughters, and how much a role we play in creating that world.

This ultimate summer camp, founded by DJ Tina T. in 2010, unites aspiring young DJs from across the country with some of the industry’s top players. This year, famed DJ Steve Aoki and Dim Mak Records will award one deserving future DJ a scholarship to camp.

Music “M2” Named Winner of Red Bull Thre3Style Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (April 8, 2011) — Last night, over 1100 locals packed into The Venue Scottsdale to support some of Phoenix’s top DJ’s competing at Red Bull Thre3Style. The unique format highlighted the eight DJs’ raw talent and passion as they performed to impress the judges and a very vocal and lively crowd. After a long deliberation by the three judges, M2 was named the winner. Coming in second place was Astonish, and in a close third was Circle. M2 is one step closer to making it to the National Finals in Las Vegas as he now has an opportunity to be one of three West Coast qualifying DJs vying for the two open regional spots. The winning DJ from Las Vegas will earn a position to compete at the International Finals in Vancouver, B.C.

Music DJ Tina T Presents ‘Camp Spin-Off’: DJ Camp for Kids

Camp Spin-Off (Aug. 1st-5th) will bring together 50 boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17 with the common passion and desire to learn the art of being a DJ. The program is designed to bring all the elements of the DJ culture together in an outdoor environment. Campers are not only immersed in the culture but also experience an action packed week of traditional camp activities with their favorite DJ role models. The DJ community is unique in that, the “pioneers” of the art form are still alive.  Some of these very pioneers are scheduled to make appearances during the duration of camp. Confirmed heavy hitter DJ and music industry involvement includes but is not limited to, DJ Kevin Scott, DJ Spider, DJ Enrie, and DJ Scene. Famed DJ Hapa will be teaching instructional DJ courses. Camp Spin-Off aims to give access to not only these pioneers, but also the proper DJ instruction and equipment, paired with a team-building environment in the great outdoors!
