The soundtrack for the film “Hanna” (side note: really want to see it), scored by the Chemical Brothers, was released exclusively through iTunes last month, but I only got around to checking it out this week (and it subsequently became my unofficial soundtrack; listened to it constantly). If you haven’t given it a listen / downloaded it yet, I highly recommend doing so because it’s awesome. Favorite tracks are: “Hanna’s Theme”; “Container Park” and “Escape 700”. Grab it here and / or watch the trailer after the jump.

Music Animal Collective Goes Wild
I have an unadulterated love for most things 80s New Wave, so Baltimore’s Animal Collective is already a guilty pleasure. There’s a little more to it than this–AC mixes in a little proggy noise with their New Order-esque melodies, with a bonus being how strikingly a song like “Also Frightened” resemble, if only remotely, the calliope behind The Beatles’ “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite.” While drawing on the ghosts of British pop-rock past, Animal Collective aren’t shy about letting their own influences sway the band–here’s a couple of clips of the band from The Red Bull Music Academy Site, playing “Headphone Highlights” and at an appearance at Chairman Mao’s in NYC.
Music Animal Collective: The Lollapalooza Zoo
The funny thing about Animal Collective is that even some of its fans have trouble describing what they think of this Baltimore-bred band. After stepping out of the photo pit and into the crowd at their Lollapalooza set at the PlayStation stage, I ran into listeners of Animal Collective that I know, and the most they could say is that they have to be in a certain mood for the music. Is it mood music? Maybe. Of course, the die-hard fans in the front row, with the multi-colored paw tracks painted on their faces might argue otherwise.
