Max Herman hasn’t had a nine-to-five in over four years. And for the most part, the Chicagoan has enjoyed the freedom of freelance life contributing to magazines like XLR8R and Remix. Max has long covered hip-hop music, but these days, his ear is open to anything with proper percussion and/or lyrics worth listening to. When not telling the stories of artists on the verge with text, he can be found throughout Chicago with camera in hand, capturing live shows/events for many of the same publications he writes for. So don’t be surprised when you see Max’s name in both bylines and photo credits.
