Bars/Clubs Featured Antone’s

April 21, 2009 - 10:25 pm

I’m not for positive if your familiar with it, but on this 3rd rock from the Sun exists a form of musical expression simply termed, the Blues. It’s a genre based on 8,9,12, and sometimes 16-bar blues chord progressions made up of the blue notes. These are played or sung at slightly lower pitch and often incorporate a call-and-response lyrical form to convey a sense of sadness or melancholy.

Now, I for sure haven’t the slightest idea of what any of that shit I just wikigiarized means, but I know I loves me some blues music. And in Austin, Antone’s is the place to be when you’re a “Booze Crazy Man” and you wanna “Dance With Your Black Drawers Off” with a “Big Legged Sally”.

Dare I say newly constructed dive bar which is not too loud and just a scream above quiet. Occupancy, of a whopping 49.5 ppl, will get to that in a sec.

Upon further inspection of the wall adjacent to the Ms. Pac Man machine I noticed a certain diminutive similarity. Each contains a pseudo celeb, Celeb, or some famous spot and  all share the common denominator of a lil’ gnome dude named Dirty Bill. I decided I must booze with a man who is so well traveled, and after many a trial and tribulation I was finally granted an audience. The following is our conversation a la Lipton…
