Featuring the blazing guitar of Tom Morello and the intense vocal stylings of The Coup’s Boots Riley, Street Sweeper Social Club is more than a band, its a Movement. SSSC is performing tonight at the Roxy theater in Hollywood. If you have not yet heard of the band and/or you are a fan of Rage Against the Machine, you will love SSSC and you should get your tush down to Sunset Blvd. for one heck of a show.

Music A Young Photographer’s Voodoo Experience
Music has always been a huge part of my life, so when I was given the opportunity to start photographing festivals I jumped at it. The 2010 Voodoo Experience is only the second gig I’ve shot and it was certainly one of the most memorable things I’ve ever done. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I stepped through the gates on Day 1. There I was; a 19 year old college student with press access. This was the big leagues and I didn’t even realize it.

There would be no hopes of him approaching me to discuss how one of his songs was written for me and how we were meant to be together. Nope. He and I do not need to ‘Find Our Love.’
The arousal and appeal of Drake sexually is something I will never quite understand. And that hand of his? Let’s not even get into his spastic hand…
Featured Music How Metric Measures Up: Voodoo Style
Emily Haines is a rock star. The Canadian lead singer of Metric owned the stage at the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans this past weekend. Her dynamic vocals, delivered perfectly made me embarrassed for those auto-tuning wannabees. Its refreshing to see an age of strong woman rockers emerging after such a miserable lull.
