In case you missed it, last week Blink 182 released a new CD called Neighborhoods. Cleverly you can stream parts of the entire album off their site on the interweb and connect to other people in YOUR neighborhood who are also listening at the same time. Its a bit like when you are in a hotel room on chat and one of your unseen neighbors hits you up for random chat sex. Come on, I know that doesn’t only happen to me?
No matter how you slice it, the Foo Fighters have earned their reputations as the nicest guys in rock n roll. Currently on tour in the US, but heading to Australia later this year, I caught up with them in both Columbus and my hometown of Pittsburgh PA. They threw down a 2 hour and 40 minute set of the loudest, proudest rock from the past 15 years. In a word…EPIC!

Imagine hitting a massive dance club in the heart of Hollywood on a weekend night. He unleashed his unique brand of dance/rockabilly onto a fevered crowd this past Friday night at Avalon in Hollywood. Deep resounding bass bombs forced your attention and moved your feet. DTL’s refreshing blend of the classic rock n roll standards with an electronic rhythm that leads you resoundingly into the night.

Florence and the Machine may be a lot of things; mood makers for hipsters, sincerely passionate musicians, theatrical showman. But they never fail to engage the audience and enliven the soul. Florence (Welch) has a distinct vocal style that envelopes you like a wool blanket. While its inviting and warm, it also gets under your skin.
She admits that her best writing often happens when she is tired or drunk. Her ability to tap into that subconscious space and express it is powerful, moving and decidedly on point.
