The Bouncing Souls completed an amazing series of shows recently in Hollywood. They played 8 albums, 2 albums each night, 4 nights in a row, in 4 different cities. That’s something like 106 songs. I mean, sure they have been around now 20 years. And sure they are on the road constantly. And sure, they are great at what they do. But keeping all those songs straight…its kind of an epic achievement even for the consummate professional.

Music ChinaShop Presents ROCK: 8MM
Sean and Juliette Beavan were married for seven years before they discovered a hidden dimension to their marriage, the ability to make phenomenal music together. Sean, a music producer known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, was finishing up a project for Kill Hannah when he came across the need for a female singer. In a pinch, he had his wife throw some vocals on a track. “Sean threw me in the booth, not knowing if I could sing but figuring he could make it work. I figured the same thing, but after it was over, I’d been bitten,” says Juliette who explains that she fell in love with the experience. “Sean came home that night and asked if I wanted to try writing music together and we’ve been doing it since.”
8MM is bringing their unique trip-hop meets Noir pop sound to ChinaShop Presents: Rock on 11/18 at the Viper Room. In a conversation with Juliette and Sean, they discuss their love for working together and how fans confessing to having sex to one of their tracks is a regular occurrence.

Featured Music Four Year Strong: Determined to Rise Above
Chinashop decided to catch up with Four Year Strong as they headline the Alternative Press Fall Tour 2011 along with bands Gallows, Title Fight, The Swellers, and Sharks! The day, November 8, 2011, marks a milestone in the band’s career. It is the day of their latest album release, In Some Way, Shape or Form (Decaydance, Universal Motown). It’s also the most mature album to date for the Worcester, Massachusetts natives, and deals with issues during a transitional phase for the band who found themselves at the crossroads of their career, all the while sticking to their roots firmly planted in the hardcore scene.
Finding a cozy little nook in a public alley behind The Glass House in Pomona, Four Year Strong members Alan Day, Dan O’Connor, Joe Weiss, and Jake Massucco fill us in on some of the key tracks on the new album, and discuss what they’d do if time travel were possible.
