Featured Music Exclusive Download: Thrice “Yellow Belly”

July 20, 2011 - 2:37 am

Thrice‘s new album Major/Minor will be released everywhere September 20, 2011 via Vagrant Records… but ChinaShop has a special exclusive treat for all you rabid fans hungry for new music from this seminal band.

Regarding the recording process and album, the band shared with us the following:

Riley Breckinridge (drummer) – “Yellow Belly’s” working title was Major/Minor, which, after much deliberation, ended up becoming the title of our new record. It was the first track we debuted live at Bamboozle in April, and the first track we laid down in the studio at the beginning of our sessions in May. Our only exposure to Red Bull Studios had been tracking and taping a Myspace Transmissions session in 2007, but getting to record an entire record there was a fantastic experience and one we’re very grateful for.

Dustin Kensrue (vocals, guitar) – It was great tracking at Red Bull studios. It’s set up really well and we were able to track most of the record live which definitely comes across in the energy that was captured. The engineers are super helpful and know their stuff as well.

  1. I got a Thrice tattoo yesterday after a few years deliberation. It was inspired from the album art for the Alchemy Indexes. Then, today, I get a new Thrice song… This could be the best week I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait for October 23rd in Columbus!

  2. Awesome song just keeps getting better, you need to come over to the UK again. Seeing them at reading last year was the highlight of the how festival :P

  3. Please please come to Nebraska. I have been listing to you guys forever and have never seen or even heard you guys playing a show in Ne. So how about a a show in Omaha or Lincoln what do you say?

  4. I CAN NOT WAIT. There are no words to describe how much I love the music you create. Needless to say you are one of the few bands that can move me to tears. Beautiful lyrics and a beautiful sound. September can’t get here soon enough.
