If you don’t think you know who The Ting Tings are, I bet you do. If you’ve turned on the radio within the last year, chances are you’ve heard “That’s Not My Name” or “Shut Up and Let Me Go.” The Manchester indie pop duo composed of Jules De Martino and Katie White have released four major singles on Columbia Records UK and their debut album “We Started Nothing” has sold well over 2 million copies.

A highly anticipated sequel to their first album, rumored to have a working title of Kunst (which means ‘art ‘in German), is scheduled to release sometime in early 2011.

The band’s newest single, “Hands” was released on October 10, 2010, and has been generating a lot of buzz. The single is available for purchase on the band’s Facebook page and via iTunes. Check out the video below.

A limited edition “Hands” Remix Package was recently released on January 18, 2011. The Ting Tings teamed up with Creative Allies and URB.com to find an official remix for the song. By using MixMatchMusic’s mix maker remix software, fans were able to use their personal computers to remix the song they way they envisioned it. The grand prizewinner was awarded $500 and their remix was released with the limited edition “Hands” Remix package. In addition to a remix contest, contestants submitted poster art ideas and the winner’s art is featured in the remix package. The winning poster art and remix version for “Hands” can be seen here.

Only 500 versions of the “Hands” Remix Package were made. The package is available for $10.00 and includes a numbered 12×12 lithograph print and “Hands” Remix instant MP3 download. Copies of this can be purchased exclusively through The Ting Ting’s Online Store. Make sure to snag yours before they are sold out and forever gone.

Look for the new album from The Ting Tings to arrive sometime this year. If the rest of the songs are anything like “Hands,” then fans are in for a real treat!
