“No one can tell us what we can and can not do,” says Leanne Anderson, Creative Director for Iron Fist. An attitude that has got this company far in the last 8 years. Their sassy styles and ingenuity have grown this company into a fashion brand to watch. When I last checked in with them, a year and a half ago, they had just started to dip their toes into the ladies zombie shoes. A bold direction for a very niche market. However, success has never looked so mean…they are unique and so beautifully done you can’t help but to desire them.
This past week in Vegas for the semi-annual fashion trade show, MAGIC, we popped our heads into the booth for an update on what’s next for this edgy brand. Not limited to shoes, although if I’m being honest they are my absolute favorite items, they also create street inspired t-shirts, dresses, underwear, bags, jackets and more. They design for men, women and children alike.
Bold, bright colors permeate the designs. Beautiful fabrics and textures bring a quality to the garments. But let’s talk about the stars of the line, the shoes. You’ve not seen shoes like this before except perhaps out of super expensive design houses. Anderson shared with me that she’s shocked daily at the tenacity of the competition. Designers from other brands brazenly enter the booth and ask Anderson if she could hook them up with their sources for manufacturing. Blasphemy in the fashion industry, if you have a unique process you’d sooner have your nails pulled out with tweezers than hand over your resources.
The process for getting the monster, zombie, and printed designs lined up correctly on the shoes is incredibly complex. However the end result is truly worth the effort. I want a little mouth perfectly placed on the top of my tiny foot (and a nice shoe design doesn’t hurt either). You can shop Iron Fist directly online here.
