In movie and film news, Bill Murray has officially halted production on Ghostbusters 3. This is nothing new:

“Harold [Ramis] tells a very funny story about the several months it took to get Bill to read the script for Groundhog Day,” says a source behind the production. “Every week or so, [Bill] would go up to Harold and say, “You know, I read 10 pages… they’re really good. Is it going to stay this good?” The source went on to say: “He hasn’t even read 10 pages [of Ghostbusters 3] yet, to the best of our knowledge.”

If you’re a Batman aficionado in the least, you know that what Nolan has done to the DC superhero is better than any comic book writer might have ever done for him. Trouble is, in anticipation of The Dark Knight Rises, Dark Knight fanboys are acting like Samuel L. Jackson in Jungle Fever. Which of your mother’s precious heirlooms will you sell for a taste of that sh*t?

Hmm, now speculation is afoot regarding the possibility of Robin Williams joining the cast. Try not to think about Patch Adams. Or Mrs. Doubtfire.
Update: It helps to keep track of the constant updates. 2 minutes ago: “Joseph Gordon-Levitt has officially joined the cast of The Dark Knight Rises.”

That was the sound of women collectively dropping their trousers in anticipation. Guys have equal reason to be happy just because Levitt proved long ago he’s got serious charisma. Instead of drowning in the shadow of his 3rd Rock days, he’s come quite a long way.

In the meantime, The Seattle Post has put out a neat little article detailing exactly what to expect from X-Men: First Class. The movie’s plot will not follow any of the comic book storylines, and it’s been reported that the story’s a bit of a mess with its constant re-writes and last-minute changes. After the last couple movies in this franchise, if this one doesn’t live up to the hype, most eyes/hopes will look to Darren Aronofsky for salvation.
