Conjoined – a superdimensional art show curated by supreme monster painter, Chet Zar, is currently up at Copro Nason gallery, and it is not to be missed.
Conjoined is a collection of work from the cream of the pop surrealism and lowbrow crops, alongside rare work by renowned special effects creators, some of whom have never exhibited in a gallery setting before.
Chet Zat comments:
“I credit the success of the show to all the artists who participated – they made the curatorial process easy. Everybody submitted beautiful work and delivered on time! Gary and Erica did a stellar job setting up and pulled an all-nighter before the show opened, as sculpture is much more difficult to display than 2D work. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We are already planning to do it bigger and better next year!”
If you missed the opening reception on January 22nd, fear not, for there is a closing party this very Saturday!
Expect to be awed by an eerily life-like [and life-size] Baba Yaga sculpture by T.S. Kuebler. Also, be prepared to spend a lot of time being hypnotized by Jason Hites “Technological Crucifixion,” Laurie Hassold’s “Post Extinction Fossil Grotto,” and “Veneration Envoy” from Kris Kuksi.
This is one show you won’t want to leave, for fear you didn’t quite manage to take it all in – and there is much to absorb, so show up early and take your time – it will be worth it.
