As ChinaShop’s assistant editor, 2010 has been quite an exciting year for me. I’ve had the privilege of seeing nearly every post that has come through our back end and onto your screen, each day discovering something new and exciting that I’d not known existed. The following are 5 post that blew me away and knocked my socks off in 2010.
Best of 2010…according to Mike Bucher
Raver Chic At The Electric Zoo
One of my favorite photo galleries of 2010 by Courtney Dudley (see above lead photo). In this most excellent gallery, Courtney truly captures the essence of the event and it’s characters and takes you so close you’ll find yourself digging out your neon leggings.
The Ghost of Delilah and Other Stories at Gallery 1988
Two of our contributors, Zoetica Ebb and Molly Crabapple (in addition to others) collaborate with Travis Louie to create The Ghost of Delilah and other Stories. Travis Louie is just one of a handful of amazing artist that our contributors have brought the ChinaShop spotlight to in 2010. Click the above link to see the exhibit.
Florence (and the Machine) Discusses Haunted Dresses & Living With Her Parents
In one of my favorite interviews of 2010, Florence Welch talks candidly with ChinaShop’s Nicole Pajer about her past, present successes, and living with her parents… Click the above link for the interview.
In case it has not yet crossed your radar, “Music Magic,” a weekly installment by ChinaShop’s Amanda Boyd is, in general, your one stop shop for all that is hip. Each week, Music Magic dishes up a fresh dose of hipness sure to bring you a chuckle, a grin, and some much needed inspiration. Check out this past week’s music magic and stumble down the rabbit hole.
Free Hugs with Ed Sharpe and the M.Z.’s
This gorgeous photo gallery by ChinaShop’s Courtney Dudley, including exclusive backstages shots of the band before their show at Webster Hall performance, takes you so close you can actually feel yourself getting a sweaty hug from Alex Ebert.
