Every couple months in Los Angeles, a few thousand people have a quaint get together titled simply, “HARD “. It is here were they are entranced by the finest envoy of eclectic electro this side of the Mississippi. Well, unless HARD is on rotation in New York.
The most recent incarnation of all things glow stick was this past Halloween weekend. As the Shrine Auditorium was transformed into, wait for it, “HARD Haunted Mansion”. Muuuhahahnuuahha oooo. The creaks and shrieks in this haunted abode came not from some ghostly apparition seeking Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches, but the undead in the crowd below. And those familiar and mysterious bumps in the night were welcome as they emanated from under the turntables of Justice, Basement Jaxx , Boys Noize , DESTRUCTO, Crookers, Major Lazer , Steve Aoki , AC Slater, Shinichi Osawa, Zombie Nation , and Bears, Oh my!
I had but little time before the witching hour upon my arrival and decided to see what kind of paranormal activity I could get myself into. So I ditched the relative safety of the photography pit and into the large pupil-ed masses I went. And this is what I saw…
