Grammy award winning Chicago quartet OK Go got the crowd pumping last Sunday at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s Bamboozle Festival. In a typically colorful set, lead singer Damian Kulash and the boys mixed fresh gems from their new album Of the Blue Colour of the Sky with classics like Here It Goes Again, aka “the treadmill dance song,” as most people know it.
It was hard to take your eyes of guitar player Andy Ross’s candy apple red 2 piece and bass player Tim Nordwind’s pink button up but concertgoers were kept on their toes by a constant stream of crowd surfers that peppered the crowd like croutons on your salad.
If you liked OK Go’s treadmill masterpiece, you will love their latest creation for the new single This Too Shall Pass. The viral video for this catchy tune is a Rube Goldberg symphony executed to perfection in OK Go’s NO EDIT, SINGLE TAKE signature style. It’s no wonder that the piece already has over 12 million views and the “highest ranked youtube video of all time” honor. Tim Nordwind of OK Go will perform with the Armando on Monday, June 7th at 8 pm at the iO West! Tickets are just $20!
The Armando Show begins with one suggestion from the audience, which is then interpreted by that night’s Armando (OK Go’s Tim Nordwind) through a personal and truthful improvised monologue. Inspired by that monologue, a cast composed of veteran Chicago and Los Angeles alumni perform scenes which, in turn, inspire a response from Armando. This propels hilarious interchanges between Armando’s monologues and the company’s scenes.
