May 12, 2010 - 11:02 am

In a day and age when most bands you see live rely on a backing track, Brooklyn based dance-punk duo Matt and Kim do it the old fashioned way, with a drum set and a keyboard.  & The Lightning-bolt chemistry the two share on stage helps fill any gaps their instruments may leave.

Matt & Kim Bamboozle 2010Matt Johnson (his real name) kicked off the Bamboozle set by climbing 30 feet up the main stage riser, helicoptering his stage towel overhead, and summoning a thunderous applause.

The 40 minute set raged on as the pair mixed spontaneous improvisations with crowd favorites like “Good Ol’ Fashion Nightmare,” and even threw in a cover of Alice Deejay’s “Better off Alone.”
