In a day and age when most bands you see live rely on a backing track, Brooklyn based dance-punk duo Matt and Kim do it the old fashioned way, with a drum set and a keyboard. & The Lightning-bolt chemistry the two share on stage helps fill any gaps their instruments may leave.
Matt Johnson (his real name) kicked off the Bamboozle set by climbing 30 feet up the main stage riser, helicoptering his stage towel overhead, and summoning a thunderous applause.
The 40 minute set raged on as the pair mixed spontaneous improvisations with crowd favorites like “Good Ol’ Fashion Nightmare,” and even threw in a cover of Alice Deejay’s “Better off Alone.”
