Hip-hop was center stage at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s Bamboozle festival this year. So much so, that the Genre had it’s own dedicated ‘B-Boy’ tent featuring artists like Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Mike Posner & More. Included in the group was D.C born rapper Wale, or Olubowale Victor Akintimehin as his mother would call him.
Wale‘s performance was a standout at the B-Boy tent with the giant crowd singing along to singles “Pretty girls” and “Chillin” (which features Lady Gaga). Wale’s career took flight in 2006 with the ascent his hit song “Dig Dug” (Shake It) and his prowess has grown steadily ever since. On November 10, 2009 Wale released his star studded Attention Deficit with cameo performances by Pharrell, Bun B, Chrisette Michele, K’Naan, Marsha Ambrosius, J. Cole, and Melanie Fiona. Wale plays Bonnaroo June 10 and continues to tour the Mid West and East Coast.
