Fashion Maison Moschino

Heading to Italy any time soon? If so, why not spend a spell at the newly-opened Maison Moschino? From its fluffy origami cloud light installations to its candy-themed chandeliers, it is surely a one-of-a-kind gem in Milan’s hotel-scape. Situated in the building which once housed Milan’s first train station, it is described by Rossella Jardini, the Creative Director of Moschino, as the “home and place of enchanted fairy tales.” The common thread connecting the rooms is a fairy tale theme because to sleep is perchance to dream, and dreams are fairy tales that we are allowed to experience first hand, the fables of a fantasy world that we have created. This is an alternate life in which we direct & stage the scripts of our very own play.
The hotel interior reflects Moschino’s distinctive style where the ordinary world is painted with a brush of surrealism.” Each room has a theme. The Petals suite has red rose petals dripping off the light fixture, and covering the bedspread. Everything in the room has a floral motif, based on the idea that “life should be a bed of roses.” Another room called Sleeping In Evening wear features a bed which is — literally — an enormous ballgown. The Sweet Room is exactly what it sounds like: a room decorated with dessert-shaped pillows and a chandelier which appears to be made entirely of baked goods. Other themed rooms include Wallpaper, Forest, Alice, Cloud, Ivy, Blue and Gold.
Maison Moschino officially opened on the 25th of February, with a star-studded night of fashion, music and incredible food. Serving as the venue for the Moschino CheapAndChic Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 collection, guests stood in a huge clear tent and drank champagne while they watched the show. Pixie Lott from Britain provided the runway soundtrack, while Italian icon Asia Argento spun records at the after party. The collection was fun, upbeat and didn’t take itself too seriously — like always.
From Chef Moreno Cedroni’s Clandestino restaurant to the adjacent gardens, the spa and Turkish baths, I can’t think of a more wonderful place to stay in Milan. If you could stay at the Maison Moschino, which room would you want to stay in? Even though there are no pictures of the Alice room, that would definitely be my pick! Fingers crossed for a trip to Milan soon…
You can book yourself a room at the Maison Moschino website.

Looks like a hotel out of Tim Burton’s imagination. I’d definitely stay there, but I’d have to spend each night in a different room!
