Austin TX Featured Gallery Gala Darling and Molly Crabapple Do Austin RIGHT

You can take the girls out of NYC, but you can’t make em blend in with the locals. We grabbed the always fashionable Gala Darling & Molly Crabapple, threw them in the “dirty” limo and had a crazy day exploring the small city charms of Austin TX. A little rain wasn’t going to get us down….we had a genuine riot of a good time!
Let me start by saying that taxi’s are actually a bit hard to come by in Austin, but if you need a lift, a fella called “Hollywood” will happily pick you up in the “dirty” limo, circa 1986, and give you a lift for tips alone. Now that’s hospitality, Texas style.
We then did what all good girls must, we went in search of the best vintage shop in the state, Feathers. Owner Emily kindly allowed us to pour over racks and racks of unique offerings. Gala and Molly slowly transformed from 60’s Vintage Vixens to 80’s Dynasty Divas. There was seriously so much good stuff in this shop that we got a little carried away. Each of us picked up a little something fabulous.
After some intense shop therapy we decided to play some games at Arcade UFO, Austin’s only coin operated Video Arcade. Totally old school flavor. I have to say, its been a while since I stepped foot in an authentic arcade and it was just like being dropped back in time, when your social network consisted of actually being social in person at the local hang out. We instantly transformed our dollar bills into quarters and embraced a joy stick or two for old time sake.
And finally, being the superheros that they are, Molly and Gala saved the world from malicious T-Rex incarnations at Peter Pan’s Mini Golf. Because there is nothing like a good round of mini golf to welcome a couple of city slickers to Texas. This day was a total blast, or as Gala would say, a “rudely good time”!
