Music Nine Inch Nails : The Gift Project
by Jeff Nau January 7, 2010 - 10:55 am
When Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor revealed to the public that his highly anticipated multimedia project — a concert film version of the group’s groundbreaking, multimedia Lights In The Sky tour — had to be shelved, fans were understandably devastated when they learned the months-in-the-making compilation might never see the light of day. After nearly a year, it turns out that Mr. Reznor has re-strategized and come out with something much more ambitious (and interactive) than originally planned.
Comprised of over 400 gigabytes worth of live HD footage from shows in Canada, Sacramento, and Portland, Another Version of the Truth consists of concert footage edited together by This One is On Us, aka The Nine Inch Nails Team, who’ve taken the time and painstaking effort to put the footage together over the past year or so. Known also as “The Gift,” hours of video has been made available in 1080p HD surround sound, in four different languages and even more formats (including on ITunes, DVD, etc.) and filmed by over a dozen fans.
This is the work of a dedicated group of Nails fans, whose last project, The Downward Spiral Live, a concert film of the band performing the legendary 1994 album live in its entirety last year, was released in various interactive media formats. A Blu-Ray edition is planned for release soon, with more to follow (click on the above highlighted links for more details).

I’m not a NIN fan, but I will say Trent is a music business genius, the dude always is one step ahead of the industry.
