Bob Self, a man of many hats and, most recently, host of Doctor Sketchy’s Los Angeles branch held his very first marathon. Intrepidly forsaking sleep, Bob welcomed a string of beautiful models and over sixty guests to Nucleus Gallery in Alhambra, where the twenty-six-hour event took place. Renowned painter Michael Hussar was among the attendees and created one of his famous alla prima portraits. Armed with tons of supplies, artists brought everything from watercolors and pastels to oil paint and digital tablets.

The models changed costumes and alternated poses to keep the shadows and angles fresh, and plenty of coffee was on hand to keep all those pencils and brushes moving. Not everyone stayed the entire time, of course. Those requiring rest, sustenance, and a break from those little things you see in the corners of your eyes in the wee hours of sleep dep, came and went as needed, with wristbands issued at the start of the marathon ensuring re-entry. The most resilient reaped their rewards. Those who managed to stay awake and drawing until the very end were treated with a series of poses by stunning fetish model, Mosh. Known for her doll-face and agility, Mosh bent and twisted  and peeled through several layers of latex without even breaking a sweat.
