Can there be too many bands that make you feel like you’re living in New York circa 1984? Does all that retro rap got you a little hungry for something even more retro? Well then check out the Stupid3ous Dorks, who not only look to have literally stepped straight out of a Hanna Barbera cartoon, but are as shameless in the style and decor of urban fashion past as they are their love for old school hip hop and rap. But on Dame Fifty5′s “Hipster’s Anthem,” there’s plenty of that old school flavor mixed with, dare I say, like a Bizarro-Universe Boyz II Men-flavored Motownphilliness. Which works out fine because these guys are pretty effin’ silly. And by “silly” I mean “fantastically awesome”!

The boys spend most of their leisure time proclaiming allegiance to all things dork and even hail from ST. DORK, USA–dedication if I’ve ever seen it. With hits like “Here We Go” garnering steady attention on the web and the Dorks building up a cult-like following, Stupid3ous could be exactly what the music scene needs today: a tongue-in-cheek, defiantly dweeby self-effacing old school R@B hip hop act that sticks their tongue out and twiddles their nose at the wannabe DJs of today. And ladies:the best news is that the dorkier you look, the more they’ll like the way you SHAKE THAT ASS.
