Sometimes I feel bad for men. Their sartorial options are so limited. Your choices are essentially pants and amp; shirts. Women get to wear dresses, jumpsuits, miniskirts, bikinis… Men get pants and amp; shirts. It’s not all terrible though — it just means that designers have to be more creative within the bounds of what they’ve already been given to work with. How can they make trousers better, for example? They spend hours pondering what makes a really great shirt. It’s about continual improvement or refinement, rather than just blowing the category wide open and amp; sticking a big bow on it.
So as man who has to dress within these confines, what can you do to make your outfit a little more exciting? …especially if you work in an office?
You can buy a great tie.
Now, here is the disclaimer: “novelty tie” and amp; “great tie” are not the same thing. Novelty ties, in fact, are pretty much inexcusable. Novelty ties fall into the same category as comedy boxer-shorts (usually purchased for the wearer by the wearer’s mother or something equally uncomfortable) and amp; witty slogan t-shirts. None of these things should ever grace a man’s body. If your Dilbert tie is the only way you can express your personality in an oppressive work environment, well, you have bigger problems than just a lack of taste. Resist. RESIST!
Gear Shift features an illustration of a Volkswagen GTI shift knob. The Underwood tie, with a silkscreen of a vintage typewriter, is perfect for any poet forced to wear a suit 9-5. Tread Lightly is a tire tread, perfect for car nuts or anyone who appreciates roadkill. Ceci N’est Pas Une Cravate is the ideal tie for any Dadaist. The Lust and amp; Ex Libris ties are both beautiful, the Coney Island tells your boss where you’d really rather be, & the Meatgrinder? Well. Who knows really. If you’re feeling really brave, you could always rock the Unicorn!

Please, men-folk of the world! Clear out your closet of any tie emblazoned with a cartoon character! It’s time for an upgrade, and amp; Cyberoptix has your back.

No link to their website? Bad form, Gala.

Gala!
I can’t read this; why do your articles with chinashop capitalize every single word?!
First I thought it was hypertext gone wrong, but now I’m not sure…
Personal style or not, this is what I would consider illegibility on the internet.

I agree with the poster above. It hurts to read in all-caps.

Not sure why you guys are seeing this with all caps. Its posting properly as far as I can see, I can’t recreate this issue.

admin – there’s an h2 tag before the title that isn’t closed. I’d guess you have a text-transform:capitalize in your css, so some browsers are rendering the whole article as an h2.

I don’t know what you’re talking about, Gala put a link right at the very top. I don’t see any crazy caps and think that the article was great.

For those of you seeing this and other posts as all caps we are working on a solution now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Would one of you mind sending me a screen shot of how it looks for you with the all caps? info@chinashopmag.com
thank you
