You can walk the show floor at MAGIC for miles and still not see all the fashion brands and what they have on offer.  Smaller brands sometimes get lost in the madness, but there are some real gems that you can find if you look hard enough. Fables by Barrie is one of those diamonds amongst the dust.

Barrie Kaufman

Owner Barrie Kaufman has a ultra cute sense of style. Looking at her line you can’t help but to feel the joy that went into the creation of these playful garments. On her website she says, “Fables is a very unique look that brings inspiration from our favorite vintage styles to current times with a modern twist.” Which is exactly how you feel looking at her designs, like you stepped into a modern vintage shop. Plus Barrie is especially proud of the fact that all of her creations are manufactured right here in the USA. in San Diego CA – which is kind of no surprise why there are such stunning sailor inspired swimsuits.

Even if retro isn’t really your thing, Fables has something for everyone. Well-made, darling dresses, and jumpers almost quite literally bring back your innocence. But you don’t have to be a church mouse in order to wear her line. Its sold in specialty shops across the country and online at both her own website and etsy.com. Isn’t it time you felt like you had something a little more unique than the average fair this coming spring. I know that I’m absolutely in love with one of the swimsuits and damn it…it will be mine.
