Bars/Clubs Featured Bar Lubitsch – Mix it up!

You may think that you have a neighborhood bar that rocks. But only if you live in the Russian neighborhood close to Fairfax and Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood you would be absolutely right. Located at 7702 Santa Monica Blvd for the past 2 years Bar Lubitsch has been a quiet gem on an otherwise innocuous street. Known for its extensive and inventive vodka cocktails, if all you might be looking for is a delicious frosty beverage you would leave content. However the ambiance and charm of Lubitsch transcends the average and leaves you feeling you discovered a secret place that you immediately want to call your own.
The dark wood, art deco bars are not only original classics shipped from bars long gone, but they set the perfect tone for a strong drink, some fine or maybe even so-so conversation and perhaps a raised eyebrow or two. Its hip without being pretentious; themed without feeling cliche’. The wait staff is so amiable that on several occasions they have sent tasty concoctions my way just for tasting. Although I’m usually a Red Bull/vodka kind of girl, I was swayed to try a Molotov Cocktail as well as an Absinthe martini, you know, on the house! It’s that welcoming spirit that keeps you finding reasons to not only stay, but to return again and again.
Not only does Bar Lubitsch have you at привет (that’s russian for hello) but if you dive into the interior you discover a delightful back room where some of the best DJ’s from across the country entertain you nightly. Open 7 days a week, you can surely find an excuse to take the edge off and drop into a cozy corner booth with that “friend” that you’ve been trying to impress.
Waiter, I’ll definitely have what she’s having!
