“…can’t seem to pry their voyeuristic eyes away from the seemingly mundane events on the four screens.”

The premise is simple… until it’s not… and then things go horribly wrong, which is good.  And bad.  Let me explain…

Trevor, Amber and Rob make a living in the fast-paced world of estate sales.  Actually, it’s not fast-paced at all, selling off dead folks garbage in nearly empty homes gets dull fast, so to kill time they watch a web show called “Four Boxes.”  Fourboxes.tv is actually deadly dull itself — four split security cams with their lenses focused on four empty rooms where almost nothing happens.  Almost.  Things get a little interesting when a man dressed in full hazard gear enters the picture… moving some heavy storage drums… then fills some containers with mysterious liquid.  The bored threesome go about their work but can’t seem to pry their voyeuristic eyes away from the seemingly mundane events on the internet.  Drama between the housemates unfolds like a reality show as sexual escapades complicate the MFM dynamic of their “professional” relationship.

The web show unfolding at Fourboxes.tv takes a more bizarre turn when another man enters the picture and is handily offed with some mysterious gas… his body is then disposed of.  And then those containers are connected to devices that look like… bombs… which are then loaded into boxes… each labeled with the names of key cities in the United States!  Terrorists?!

Will the housebound trio watch the events unfold or do something about it?  Clues can be found in each of the four rooms that may lead to a physical address.  Of course, that’s when any clear-headed person would make the right choice, but therein lies the root of the tension that makes this simple thriller so effective.  And once you think you have it all figured out, you don’t.  This is the beauty of Four Boxes, it keeps you watching much like the web show entrancing the characters in the film… or is this about… us?  The millions of internet viewers easily entertained by gruesome events not affecting themselves.   More thrillers like this one please!
